What is Mixing?+
Audio mixing is the process of combining and adjusting multiple audio stems together to create a balanced and cohesive mix. Vocals, instruments, drums and ambient sounds are blended to complement each other — with level balancing, panning, EQ, dynamics processing and effects.
What is a Stem?+
A stem is a processed stereo audio recording sourced from your finished song — an isolated element that's part of a larger mix. Stems must include the processing applied in your session so playback matches your reference / rough mix.
What is Mastering?+
Once your mix is confirmed as complete, mastering prepares the mixed audio for distribution so it sounds its best across all playback systems. Processing includes EQ, compression, limiting, saturation, stereo widening and de-essing.
What is the turnaround time?+
The initial mix is returned within the timeframe you select at checkout — 1, 2–5 or 5–7 working days. Turnaround is calculated on the engineer's working days, Monday to Friday.
Stem Mixing vs Multitrack Mixing?+
Stem mixing works with your processed stereo stems — all processing left active. Multitrack mixing works with your raw audio recordings mixed from the ground up, either mono or stereo, with as little or as much processing as you like.
What will I receive back?+
Stereo mixes: 96kHz 24bit wav. Stereo masters: 96k / 48k / 44.1k 24bit wav, plus 44.1k 16bit wav on request.
